Sneakers, sneakers, sneakers, these are the things that go through a true sneakerhead’s mind at all hours of the day. It’s like we literally eat, sleep, and breathe sneakers. It’s one of those things that is hard to explain unless you’re a part of the culture. Why would anyone want to obsess over shoes you ask? Well, for the same reason others might obsess over baseball cards or other collectables. You see, sneakers are in fact just that- collectables.

Sometimes people tend to forget that sneakers are not just something you put on your feet; they are a fashion item, something that can make or break an outfit. Would you believe me if I told you a pair of sneakers could be sold for as much as $45,000? Well that’s exactly what the new Nike Air-Mags with power laces go for. Now this isn’t a regular sneaker either, this is the same sneaker used in Back to the Future, not to mention the technology and limitedness of the sneaker in uncanny. This shoe was only auctioned off so that made them highly exclusive and sought after.

You see, the hype behind sneaks has risen and it’s only going to get bigger and bigger. People are getting into the sneaker industry each year. It’s kind of hard not to fall into this new world because we now have so many influencers for fashion and things we tend to adopt for ourselves. For example, music and sports icons play a big role in the sneakers and clothing brands we like to wear because sometimes what looks good on them we would like for ourselves, so we get them. That’s how most new trends start. All it takes is one or two people to make a statement and the rest will follow.

Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest basketball player to have played the game and has maybe the best sneaker line in sneaker brand history. The line did so well, that it ended up becoming its own brand under Nike. Jordan brand is actually one of the most iconic brands in the community as well (if you ask me this is what really started the frenzy). Shoes made for the greatest basketball player of all time ended up becoming one of the most iconic sneakers in the industry.
