The movie presented itself for the 9th time in 2018, becoming the 9th movie of the series since 1978. Premiering on October 19, 2018, I know that it’s been a long time  since it first started. Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

If you don’t know about the movie, it’s based a off of On a Cold Halloween Night in Haddonfield, Illinois. In 1963, six year old Michael Myers brutally murdered his teenage sister after she had sex with her boyfriend. Michael is then locked inside Smith’s Grove Warren County Sanitarium, where he is placed under the care of Dr. Sam Loomis, who is the only one who sees the pure evil inside of Michael. On October 30, 1978, Michael escapes from the sanitarium. After witnessing the escape, Dr. Loomis heads back to Haddonfield where he knows Michael will kill again on Halloween night. Michael begins stalking three teenagers, Laurie Strode and her friends Annie and Lynda. With the help of the town sheriff, Loomis hunts for Michael and hopes to put an end to his grisly murder spree. Ever since that fatal night, he has continued to kill relentlessly every Halloween. He was sent to a psychiatric ward and spent 15 years in confinement before his next kill, so there was a time where he wasn’t out to commit murders. The movie to me was very good just based off of the concept and storyline. Reviews rank this movie at 7.3/10 on IMDb, making it one of the two highest ranking in the movie series. Overall the movie was good and well put together; my only issue is that we can kind of tell when most of the things are going to happen in the movie. But don’t get me wrong, there were a couple parts that caught me off guard. I would give it more of an 8 though. I would understand that most people may judge the movie off the past couple decades. The last thing I want to talk about the movie is at the very end when the house was set on fire with him in it, just to let you know he was closed bar trapped in the basement. As the end kind of fades away, they show the basement but no body was shown. Keeps you wondering if it is really over, making it my favorite part of the movie because it leaves that suspense in the air. Michael and Laurie Strode made the movie really interesting, Laurie was hiding away for years preparing herself and her family for when Michael strikes again.Where it got good for me in the movie was how he breaks out of the confinement and eventually makes his way to the reporters, killing them in the process of retrieving his mask. I say don’t go play with fire because before the incident happened he was chained up and all, and after the reporters decided to bring the mask to him trying to get him to relapse pretty much worked out but not in their favor.
