“Parasite.”

By Samantha Reu

You eat away at me,

Gnawing at every ounce of strength I have.

I make a move to build myself up

And then there you are

Match ready to burn me once more.

Do you think I would let you get me,

Did you really think you could win?

I might be meek but that does not equate, to

Weak.

Take a stab.

I am not just flesh and bones,

I am a mind of wonders.

You can take away my physical strength,

Or at least try to,

But you will never take my mind.

I will rise again,

And when I do may you find the mercy in me.
